My top 3.
I love relaxing in a bath with a face mask on. However, I hate those sticky PVA glue-like peel away masks. I just find them too fussy and messy. I like to stick to a thick liquid mask. I always keep a variety so I can use the right product for my skin’s needs.
I have dry combination skin and sometimes I can suffer from outbreaks, enlarged pores and blackheads. For this I need a mask to combat oiliness. Some masks for oily skin can be really harsh and leave my face feeling dry and tight.
That’s why I like LUSH Cupcake fresh face mask (£6.50)
Rhassoul mud, which is highly absorbent, works with cocoa powder to draw out all the dirt and impurities and give a deep cleanse. Fresh mint stimulates and tones the skin, whilst linseed and cocoa butter soften and moisturise. Smooth a generous layer of this mask onto your face and leave for 10 to 15 minutes. [lush.co.uk]
I am a huge fan of LUSH products. I love that the company uses fair trade ingredients, avoids chemical nasties, and the overall freshness of the products. This mask smells simply DIVINE. It’s like smearing your face with a crunch ‘After Eight’ spread. The mint really helps to leave your skin feeling fresh and invigorated, whilst the cocoa keeps skin nourished.
There are times when I look in the mirror and think ‘I am getting old’. I’m still in my 20’s, but I can already see signs of ageing – creases around my eyes, slight lines in my forehead and less tautness in my skin. For this reason I have invested in an anti-ageing face mask.
I use Sanctuary Skin Time Reversal face mask (£13.50 Boots)
This Sanctuary Skin Time Reversal Face Mask is an intensive treatment containing vitamin A, E, C and a unique marine complex shown to increase collagen levels. [boots.com]
This mask is better than some high end products I have used in the past. It is deliciously moisturising and has a very subtle exfoliating quality to it also. After 10 minutes of using the mask my face is left feeling soft and fresh, leave it on for longer and the effects will leave you feeling as if you’ve had a facial. Want a super intense moisture hit? Apply the mask before you go to bed, wake up and wash off. Your skin will be silky smooth and supple.
My third face mask is for all year round use, Simple Kind To Skin Deep Cleansing Face Mask (£3.99 Boots)
Simple Kind To Skin Deep Cleansing Face Mask is a perfect blend of active ingredients and vitamin goodness to draw out deep dirt and eliminate dead cells. Perfect for even sensitive skin.
2 Vital Vitamins: Pro-Vitamin B5 actively restores, softens and smoothes & Vitamin E moisturises to improve skin condition
3 Skin Loving Nutrients: Natural Clay detoxifies and purifies, Seaweed Extract cleanses, soothes and softens & Bisabolol soothes and calms.
No Perfume, No Colour, No Unnecessary or Harsh Chemicals. Dermatologically Tested and Approved. [boots.com]
I like this mask for many reasons. Firstly, it is cheap! £3.99 really is a bargain. Secondly, I use it all year round no matter how my skin is. For example, this is a great mask to use after being in the sun – or if you have been out in the bitter cold. It feels as though you are applying a moisturiser for a serious bit of skin TLC.
Which is your favourite face mask? Let me know and I’ll try it out!
