I picked up this eye liner as an impulse buy, my previous gel liner had started to dry up and I decided to try something new. I was attracted to this eye liner as the brush is dual ended. One end has a soft short brush which is ideal for creating a thin line on the waterline and creating a feline flick. The other end of the brush is a foam smudging tip. I have tried using the liner with the brush and also using the ‘smudger’ to create a smoky effect. The eye liner is OK. I like the gel but the brush felt a little too soft for me. I prefer a stronger bristle to apply my liner as I feel it is sturdier. However, when you apply the spongy tip to smudge the liner it completely changes the look of the gel. I love the gradual smoky look, it has a slight shimmer which looks really chic. On my trial I didn’t use any eye shadow, but I think this product would be great to build up with shimmers and shadows for a really dramatic finish. The gel alone is a nice subtle smoky effect for a softer day time look.
Available in 4 shades. Buy 1 get 1 half price on selected Maybelline products at Boots NOW - go here.

PRODUCT: Big eyes Liner
PRICE: £4.99 [Boots]
I also purchased this dual ended pencil. I bought this product as I was looking for a white liner to use on my inner eye line to make my eyes look brighter. This is a well-known beauty trick which has been used for years. I tried it, but it’s not for me. The line stood out too much for everyday wear. However, on an evening this could add more drama to a strong eye look. The pencil itself was OK – I liked that it is dual ended so you could carry less pencils, and the pencil stick is chunky and easy to hold. However, if I were to use a black liner I would typically wear gel. To buy your Big Eyes Liner go here.
