I purchased this foundation after recently joining the gym. I always feel as though I need a little coverage before I leave the house to even my skin tone, but I didn’t want to use a liquid foundation. As we all know, after an hour of exercise we can be prone to getting a little sweaty on the brow, and a heavy liquid foundation tends to turn slimy, shiny and oily. There is nothing worse than working out and feeling your face slowly sliding off. Therefore, I needed an alternative and sought out a powder foundation. I have only ever used powder as a finishing touch to set my liquid foundation. I have to admit I was very sceptical at first as I am a lifelong fan of liquid foundation. The secret artist in me loves the way you can paint it on and cover all flaws. However, in this instance, liquid foundation would not do.
After searching online I ended up on the BareMinerals site. The brand boasts 4 formulas with an impressive 20 shades. I was impressed by online tutorials, sun protection, and recent awards including InStyle Magazine 2011 - 2014 - Best Mineral Base - InStyle Beauty Buys Hall of Fame and QVC Beauty Awards 2013 - Best Foundation. I ordered the Original foundation. I cannot tell you how pleased I am with this product. It is light, easy to apply and blend, and leaves a soft glow on my skin. The best attribute for me personally is the weightless feel especially as I sought this product to wear to the gym. I know this foundation will be great to use in the summer when I just want a light base and nothing too heavy like liquid foundation.
BareMinerals sell a range of brushes to apply the powder however I use my Real Techniques duo-fiber face brush and it works well.
Overall, I will definitely buy this foundation again when I run out and although I am not a true convert from liquid to powder I would consider it to be a new staple for my makeup bag.
