Wow brows.
BRAND: Tropic
PRODUCT: Eyebrow Stencils (£7), Brow Define (£18) and Dual End Eyebrow Brush (£12)
For me 2013/2014 was all about the rise of the brow. Over plucked barely there eyebrows are now a thing of the past. Bushy browed wild child Brit model Cara Delevingne shot to fame and the world watched in awe as her faced adorned every catwalk and magazine worldwide. Her brows led a revolution in style almost overnight. I myself confess to severe over plucking in my teen years, desperate to avoid the dreaded ‘mono-brow’ or ‘slug eyebrow’ label, I would happily pluck away my eyebrow hairs to non-existence.
This peak in eyebrow interest led to a whole host of styling solutions hitting the market. We have seen permanent eyebrow tattooing, HD brows as a semi-permanent option and hundreds of cosmetics hit the shelves to achieve that perfect shape. When styled correctly eyebrows can be your strongest facial feature and offer the perfect frame to your face. We’ve all used eyebrow pencils and struggled to find the right shade. Even if you find a shade which closely resembles your natural colour you are then left to sit painfully in front of the mirror adding one stroke at a time to attempt a natural and even look. The final challenge – will the eyebrow last throughout the day, or will you accidently rub half of it off during a face/palm moment?
The solution is here - two words - Eyebrow Stencils.
A set of four cleverly designed eyebrow stencils to enhance your natural brow shape and create stunning, stand-out brows… [tropicskincare.com]
When I now look back at photos of myself without defined brows I can really see the difference the styling makes to my face. In fact, now I feel a little naked if I don’t use the eyebrow kit! So how does it work? You need three products; the stencils, the brush and the powder. First, choose your eyebrow style; modern, natural, elegant or sleek. Then, carefully hold the stencil over your eyebrow and use the eyebrow brush to ‘colour in’ the stencil using the eyebrow powder. Move away the stencil and you will be left with a perfect eyebrow. Next is the tricky bit. Reverse the stencil and line up the brow shape in symmetry with your first brow. Repeat the same ‘colouring in’ technique. There is a highlighter in the Brow Define Palette which can be used to highlight the brow bone and further define the brow.
The Brow Define Palette is a combination of a semi-permanent brow filler powder and a subtle cream highlighter to give beautifully defined brows all day long.
Available in three shades:
Taupe
For Redheads and Blondes
Ochre
For Dark Blondes and Light Brunettes
Bistre
For Dark Brunettes and Black Hair

My tips;
I have been using this kit for around 5 months now and I am so pleased I made the investment. I still have plenty of powder left and the stencils can be used time after time. Your eyebrows will last all day – and stay on until you wish to remove them. Use your normal cleanser to take off the eyebrow makeup. I would advise buying the Brow Perfection Gift Box Set for £27 - a saving of £10.
In the pictures I have used the ‘natural’ stencil. This is my favourite and it is a larger bolder shape.

My tips;
- · Follow the shape of your eyebrow when placing the stencil to achieve a natural look.
- · Line up your stencil with your nose and nostrils to try and achieve a symmetrical brow.
- · Wipe your stencil before you reverse it to do your second brow to avoid a powder smudge on your skin.
- · Use small circular movements with your brush.
