60+ hours a week I am a Classroom Teacher.
24/7 I am mum to a beautiful girl.
Lifelong I am a make up addict.
My fascination with makeup began when I was a little
girl sitting on the bathroom floor watching intently as my mum 'put her face
on'. The luxurious packaging of the high end products enticed me
to venture into her makeup bag every now and then – much to my mums despair.
The colours, the textures, the sweet smells – I loved it all. From then on I
have held a slight obsession with the makeup bag.
I remember how special I felt as a
child when my mum would apply my makeup for me on special occasions. This is
why I believe makeup is so special. Not because it ‘masks’ your face, completely
the opposite, it can enhance your natural beauty and exaggerate the features
that make you unique. Makeup is something that unites us all – whether you wear
a lot or a little – you wear it.
So, why did I become the Beauty Tester UK? I am guilty of
hiding a whole stash of beauty products. Some impulse buys, some that didn’t
suit my skin type and others that I simply did not like. I wanted to share real
before and after photos of the results when using beauty products. I am not a
makeup artist, I have no beauty training, and I am just an average woman wanting
to look ‘OK’ before I leave the house. A
product that looks great on a television commercial or magazine article that
has been applied by a makeup artist onto a stunningly gorgeous model with
peachy perfect skin and then digitally enhanced may look magnificent, however
the real life results are often very different. I hope that the photos that I
share will highlight the real wonder products worth the investment from the
trendy fad products we hide at the back of the cupboard.
